Moving Forward as One Stonerise Network

By Larry Pack, Stonerise CEO

In 2009, Stonerise started with a handful of skilled nursing centers and today has a network of service spanning transitional care centers, home health, therapy and hospice. It has really been something to watch us grow the past 11 years. We started Stonerise with the idea of creating a better way to care for our loved ones and their legacies as they age. We also wanted to help keep our communities alive across West Virginia and our neighboring states. When our communities lose healthcare, they lose their heart and they lose jobs.

Today, The Stonerise Network is honored to support our communities across:

  • 17 transitional and skilled nursing care centers across West Virginia – with rehabilitation gyms supported by Stonerise therapists in each one
  • 58 counties in West Virginia and southeastern Ohio where we offer skilled home health services.

As we have grown and continue to integrate service lines, it’s only natural that how we communicate with our 2,000 patients, our nearly 3,000 team members, our neighbors and our hospital and physician partners also needs to grow. Going forward all of our locations and service lines are part of “One Stonerise”. One unified look, one unified purpose of serving others through love and one unified promise of getting patients back to health and back to life.

We are still Appalachians serving Appalachians through love. We are still the same local, dedicated teams at each of our locations. Everyone who works for us, across transitional and skilled nursing centers, home health, therapy and hospice is part of The Stonerise Network.

Our care centers offer short- and long-term options for patients to receive safe, personalized and clinician-led care. Our patients typically transfer from neighboring hospitals because they aren’t ready to go home just yet. Some need short-term therapy and others need more complex care for longer periods of time. Many of our care locations have specialized services as well to meet local community needs. For example, Stonerise Parkersburg and Stonerise Morgantown have certified Alzheimer’s “neighborhoods” dedicated to people with Alzheimer’s.

Our Stonerise Home Health professionals provide care at people’s homes – getting people back to health and back to independence. We knew that to truly find a better way to care for our aging population, we had to be able to care for them at home. Sometimes we meet patients first at home, sometimes they come to us directly after hospital stays and other times we go home with them after a stay in our care centers.

2020 is a rapidly evolving and challenging year to be in healthcare, to say the least, especially serving aging people so susceptible to COVID-19. We will keep going and we will keep striving for the best patient outcomes, to keep our patients safe and to be a company that local communities and our team members are proud of. We will keep serving others through love, with patience and courage and determination. This is what Stonerise is all about.
