Treasurer & Controller
As the Treasurer and Controller for Stonerise, Dave Machel is responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance, including financial statement preparation, budgeting and projections, and the management of accounts payable. As Treasurer, he has a leading role in the banking relationships across all entities, as well as active cash management and forecasting. Dave plays a supporting role in business planning, M&A, and insurance. Dave is passionate about working for Stonerise because the company demonstrates a diligent commitment to its mission and continued focus on growth and industry innovation.
Dave brings nearly 30 years of extensive experience in increasingly responsible leadership positions within accounting organizations in the post-acute care, manufacturing, and oil and gas distribution industries. Dave is a service-oriented professional experienced in assessing business needs, problem-solving and the development of strategic solutions through the utilization of systems and processes.
Prior to joining Stonerise in 2013, Dave was the Regional Director of Finance and Accounting for Maxum Petroleum. He was an integral member of the management team that grew the company from $300M to $700M in revenue and also helped transform a privately held family business into a more structured corporate environment. Before Maxum Petroleum, Dave worked for Special Metals Corporation (a $1.2B subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation). While at Special Metals, Dave held several management positions within the accounting department and spent some time in the Commercial Sales Group and Operations team. He served as Controller in his latest role with Special Metals.
Dave received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bethany College in West Virginia. He lives in Scott Depot and enjoys spending time with his wife, Connie, and two young adult sons, Nathan and Kyle. He has coached youth sports for several years and was active at many high school sporting events.
