VP Communications & Strategic Planning
Laura Pack Barker is a passionate communications professional. As Vice President of Communications & Strategic Planning, Laura is responsible for Brand, Internal Communications, Public Relations, General Marketing, Talent Acquisition Marketing, and Strategic Planning Processes. Her team translates the Stonerise value proposition, vision and activities into cohesive, digestible communications for Stonerise team members, partners, patients and patient families.
Laura’s career spans corporate in-house, marketing agency and editorial roles. She has designed and supported marketing initiatives for HIT/health service companies, health insurers, employers and providers. She joined Stonerise in 2019 and launched its unified Stonerise brand in 2020.
Most recently, she was Practice Lead for Commercial & Healthcare Accounts at iostudio, a marketing and advertising agency in Nashville, Tenn., focusing on digital consumer engagement. Her clients included 180 Health Partners and Jackson Financial Services.
Laura held a variety of progressive leadership roles at Sharecare (formerly Healthways, Inc.). As Executive Director of Accounts and Marketing, she supported the Sharecare Brazil and Hawaii market launches, including go-to-market positioning, brand transition, client relations and stakeholder product engagement. As Executive Director of Global Governance & Strategy for the Healthways International team, she served as “Chief of Staff” and team lead for Strategy, Communications, PMO & Analytics functions.
Prior to Healthways, Laura served as an account manager for a marketing agency in Nashville, where she oversaw digital and print programs for national healthcare clients. Laura’s first career was in journalism. She worked on staff at Glamour magazine in New York City and West Virginia Executive Magazine in Charleston.
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master’s degree in business administration from Belmont University. She lives with her family in Brentwood, Tenn. Laura and her husband stay busy keeping up with their spirited young son. She is proud of her West Virginia roots and often visits her hometown of Charleston.
